This is not the end of The Junkies, however it is the end of an era. Last night at the Dover Cruise Terminal we said goodbye to our founder members, Rozz and Marcus as the pair stepped down from the band to concentrate on their solo material.
Whilst not a surprise and with six months notice, the departure of Rozz as the voice of the band has obviously left big shoes to fill. Marcus, drummer, vocalist and sound engineer will be sorely missed, however with M&Rs endorsement, Dave and Nathan, also founding members of the band have agreed in the new direction for the rebooted LJs to take for 2017 and beyond.
The news is short for now. Expect a fresh band for 2017. New pics and promo to be launched March/ April 2017.
In the meantime and importantly, we wish Rozz & Marcus all the very best for the future, thanking them for all the hard work and good times. It’s been a blast and we wish you all the best of luck with the new promo album. Can’t wait to hear it and hope you get the commercial success you so surely deserve.
With Jools and Chaz on brass, a packed cruise terminal and as always the ever wonderful Andee P on bass, this was a suitable gig for the current band to bow out on. Rozz raised the roof one last time on Think! possibly injuring her larynx – I just wish we’d captured the performance as there’s going out on a high and then there was that. Just amazing.
Much love guys x
